Our History
Nassau Guest Farm, originally part of the larger Bloemendal and Longlands estates, has a rich history dating back to the 19th century. In the 1700s, it served as a crucial halfway stop on the wagon trail for the postal service, where riders could exchange their tired horses for fresh ones on the route between Kuilsriver and Stellenbosch.
The farm boasts a majestic oak tree, reportedly planted by Simon van der Stel in the late 17th or early 18th century, which still stands tall and healthy on the property. Natural fountains and a picturesque dam teeming with various fish species add to the farm’s scenic beauty.
For the past three generations, the Bester family has been the steward of Nassau. In earlier years, the property was well-known for its guesthouse managed by Alberts ‘mother. Today, Albert and Lynette Bester continue this tradition of hospitality, warmly welcoming guests as if they were family and sharing their natural heritage.
Nassau Classic
Take a journey back in time in a rare vintage car from the early 1930’s. Nassau classics offers chauffeur- driven vintage cars for special events. We strive to provide the best service in reliability, affordability and safety. Make one of our showstopper cars part of your special occasion. We cater for weddings, matric farewells, anniversaries, birthdays, vintage photoshoots and soon we will be introducing our Winelands tours.
All the cars are owned by the Bester family and are kept in immaculate condition. The showroom is conveniently situated just outside Stellenbosch at Nassau Guest farm. Here you will find our unique and exciting collection of vehicles to view at your leisure.
